His research centers on image and video processing, stereo vision and computer vision, extending into AI-driven pattern recognition, spatial computing and augmented reality — and, more recently, into cultural heritage preservation through Batik and Songket motif classification. That work has drawn 24 completed research grants since 2005 (FRGS, Science Fund, TVET Applied Research and industry-sponsored), and produced 54 indexed journal articles, 30 conference papers, and 5 books and book chapters, alongside a run of educational modules published through Apple iTunes U. Beyond authorship, he reviews for Elsevier journals including Expert Systems With Applications and Computer Vision and Image Understanding, sits on the editorial board of the Iraqi Journal of Computers, Communication, Controls and Systems Engineering, and has guest-edited six special issues of JTEC. Four of his frameworks are registered as copyrights or trademarks — including the BEAM Framework and TUAH INDEX — alongside six MoUs/MoAs with institutions in Indonesia, China, Japan and the United States.
